About the Role:

The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is a leading organization in the field of fusion energy research, working towards sustainable nuclear energy. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Commercial to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to lead the delivery of sustainable fusion energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Commercial Department, setting targets and monitoring performance, and ensuring the organization has the necessary resources and capabilities to support operational delivery.
  • Oversee all aspects of procurement and commercial issues, ensuring full legal compliance with Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the upcoming Procurement Act 2023.
  • Develop and implement the commercial procurement strategy, ensuring close liaison and compliance with DESNZ Commercial Team and Cabinet Office requirements.
  • Own, lead, maintain, and improve commercial systems, protocols, templates, and procedures within the Procurement team.
  • Provide commercial advice on all aspects of procurement and commercial contracts.
