Job Opportunity: Highway Inspector

We are collaborating with a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Highway Inspector, on a 1.5-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Compensation: £17.14 - £22.14 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.
  • To actively promote the Council's Equal Opportunity Policy and Diversity Strategy, adhering to the standard of conduct that prevents discrimination.
  • To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Council's Health and Safety Policy, and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
  • To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 Duty of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.
  • At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
Requirements:
  • NRSWA accreditation Supervisor Certificate
  • Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, including Construction, Design and Management Regulations and Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
  • In-depth knowledge of the New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA).
