Special Needs Education Support Worker

Protocol Education is working with a special needs school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, to find a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant. The school focuses on a holistic approach to learning, using sensory and therapy strategies in their daily timetable to create a calm and purposeful environment.
The students at this school have complex needs, including ASD, behavioural difficulties, and SEMH needs, as well as other individual requirements. Each child has an EHCP, which will be shared with the successful candidate to ensure consistency and familiarity within their learning and individual goals.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work 1:1 with pupils and support within the classroom. This requires being adaptable, proactive, and positive, using your creative background in Arts, sensory, therapy, or drama to uniquely support SEND pupils with a variety of needs and emotions.
The role involves:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities.
- Supporting students with personal care and promoting independence.
- Creating a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.
