Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neurophysiology Specialist to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Neurophysiology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive Clinical Neurophysiological investigative service to patients of all ages from a large range of specialties suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Provides highly complex, specialist Clinical Neurophysiology service to patients of all ages from a range of specialties suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.
  • Responsible for the provision, audit and quality of a specialist area of Clinical Neurophysiology Service delivery.
  • Responsible for the development and training of Clinical Physiologists (Neurophysiology) within the designated specialist area and other professionals (including medical students and Nurses).
Person Specification
  • To have completed and passed the BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent formal specialist training (other appropriate qualifications e.g. BTEC HNC/D in MPPM or equivalent experience plus professional exam ECNE part 1) plus knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist courses or training/experience to Masters.
Experience
  • Relevant years post graduate experience.
  • Supervision of students or junior staff.
  • Implementation of new procedures including preliminary work involved.
  • The ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in a variety of forms to patients, relatives and carers including children and patients with learning or physical disabilities and psychiatrically disturbed patients.
