Job DescriptionProject Engineer Role
We're seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our growing team as we expand our capabilities in the UK's nuclear industry. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects, focusing on compliance, safety, and optimisation throughout.
- Monitor delivery of the project, identifying risk and opportunities and working with key stakeholders to optimise project delivery.
- Assess the 'constructability' of the proposed design and ensure that Design teams produce feasible designs within the required timescales.
- Lead the delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with all company processes and protocols.
- Review and approve contractor documents as delegated by Project Manager.
- Support and develop the supervisory and engineering team, and support project steering groups/cross discipline action groups, as required.
- Perform up front site surveys including liaising with designers.
- Proofread and approves drawings.
- Where appropriate, act as point of contact for site related project issues.
- Act as Test Team Leader where appropriate.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
- Manage the implementation of systems and processes for Right First-Time approach.
- Overall ownership of Handover Documentation for Section.
- Input and drive of operational target programs to reflect overall construction program.
- Liaise with off-site functions for knowledge sharing and best practice.
- Other assigned duties.
Salary
The estimated salary for this role is between £60,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role, being EC&I biased.
- HNC/HND qualifications in either Electrical or C&I discipline (advantageous, although not essential).
- Collaborative working environment experience.
- Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
- Substantial experience within H&S Management in an operational setting, including method statements, accident/incident investigation, knowledge of current HSE and CDM legislation and proficiency in the use of H&S Management.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Strong work ethic.
- The ability to work effectively within a small but growing project team.
- Strong decision-making ability.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
