At Jacobs, we're seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil Engineer to join our Nuclear Power and Engineering Technical Services (NPETS) business. This exciting opportunity will see you working on high-profile projects, managing programmes and resources, and delivering to time and budget.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you'll take ownership of technical challenges, develop strategies, and implement solutions through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. You'll produce and review design deliverables, direct resources to perform analysis tasks, and develop and review safety case inputs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
  • Managing programmes and resources, delivering to time and budget.
  • Producing and reviewing design deliverables.
  • Directing resources to perform analysis tasks.
  • Developing and reviewing safety case inputs.

We're looking for a candidate with a strong background in civil engineering, preferably with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Chartered status with a relevant institution is also essential. You'll need to have a good understanding of structural theory, problem-solving ability, and experience in the design and/or construction of civil engineering solutions using Eurocodes.

Previous experience in the design and/or construction of heavy infrastructure projects, nuclear or regulated industry, is highly desirable. You'll also need to have experience using finite element modelling software and associated post-processing software, with experience in validation and verification of modelling tools and their outputs.
