Deputy Treasurer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced senior treasury professional to oversee day-to-day treasury operations and lead strategic projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a proven track record working in large multinational companies to take on a number two position and drive the innovation of this treasury function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Management: Lead the cash management process to ensure efficient and effective management of the company's cash resources.
  • Bank Relationship Management: Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions to optimize treasury operations and reduce costs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the company's credit agreement and all associated obligations to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Risk Management: Oversee risk management related to liquidity, FX, and interest rate exposures, and develop appropriate hedging and mitigation strategies to minimize risk and maximize returns.
  • Debt Servicing: Manage debt servicing and hedging while supporting future debt issuances and refinancing processes to ensure optimal debt management.
  • Treasury Reporting: Supervise daily cash reporting and develop regular treasury-related reporting to provide insights into treasury operations and performance.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Take responsibility for the company's 17-week rolling cash flow forecast and liquidity management to ensure accurate forecasting and effective cash management.
  • Treasury Policies: Develop treasury policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk and Control Matrices: Own and develop risk and control matrices to identify and mitigate risks associated with treasury operations.
  • Investment Decisions: Make investment decisions for non-immediately usable cash to optimize returns and minimize risk.
  • Treasury Function Enhancement: Explore external providers and new products to enhance the treasury function and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Your Background:
  • Education and Qualifications: Relevant degree, along with a recognised professional qualification eg: ACT, ACCA.
  • Treasury Experience: Extensive treasury experience in global, complex businesses, covering all operational aspects of treasury.
  • Team Management: Proven team management skills to lead and motivate treasury teams.
  • Cross-Functional Experience: Experience working with cross-functional project teams in acquisitions, tax restructuring, or similar.
  • Refinancing Experience: Experience with refinancing projects to optimize debt management and minimize risk.
