Job Description

This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for making a positive impact on young minds. We are looking for a dedicated individual to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs in a school based in Lewes.

You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD, or Autism and have developed mental health issues due to their needs. Your role will involve assisting the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students and taking an active role in forward planning with therapists.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with therapists to develop plans that meet the needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of challenging behaviour and its effects on children.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with children and support them in achieving their goals.

We offer a comprehensive training program and opportunities for career progression. The salary for this role is estimated at £25,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on experience.
