Main Responsibilities

The Fetal Medicine Lead Midwife will be responsible for providing expert clinical midwifery care to women and their families accessing the Fetal Medicine Unit services. This includes leading and coordinating midwives to provide midwifery care for women during the fetal medicine pathway.

Key Duties
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the midwifery team
  • Develop and implement effective individualized, women-centered, evidence-based midwifery care
  • Work in partnership with the Antenatal and Newborn Screening (ANNBS) Midwives to ensure timely response to abnormal screening results
  • Participate in the provision of high-quality care for all, being a great place to work, partnerships for impact, and research and education excellence
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Midwife qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development post-registration
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Knowledge and experience of fetal medicine (desirable)
