Fetal Medicine Lead Midwife Opportunity

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced midwife to join its Fetal Medicine Unit as the Lead Midwife. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and effective running of the Fetal Medicine service, providing excellent maternity care for women and families accessing the FMU services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to midwives, ensuring the provision of high-quality midwifery care for women during the fetal medicine pathway.
  • Work in partnership with the Antenatal and Newborn Screening (ANNBS) Midwives to respond to abnormal screening results in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in the provision of individualized, women-centered, evidence-based midwifery care.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with evidence of continuing professional development post-registration.
  • Experience of leading a team and knowledge of fetal medicine.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk management.
