At the University of Oxford, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Workshop Technician to join our team. This role requires an experienced individual to operate, maintain and oversee the use of various metal working machinery, including both manual and CNC equipment.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high precision machining in a research or high precision manufacturing environment. They will be proficient as both a manual and CNC machinist, and proven experience with CAD including the creation and modification of assemblies and components to suit manufacturing needs.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can communicate mechanical concepts clearly to staff and students who have no mechanical background.
Job Requirements
- Hold a formal qualification in a relevant field e.g., City and Guilds, BTEC, HNC and a recognized apprenticeship in an appropriate subject.
- Have a salary range of approximately £40,000 - £55,000 per annum based on location and industry standards.
