We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Goods Mechanic to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a Heavy Goods Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a variety of heavy goods vehicles.

With over 49,000 vehicles in our fleet, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. We are investing in modernising our fleet, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of makes and models.

You will use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair heavy goods vehicles, and have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

About You

To be successful as a Heavy Goods Mechanic, you will need to have:

  • An IMI Level 3 qualification in Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
  • Varied vehicle experience, proven by working on a wide range of heavy goods vehicles.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • High working standards, taking pride in your work and doing what is necessary to ensure the job is done effectively.
  • Flexibility to service demands, able to work on a flexible shift rota.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum, including overtime. You may also be eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500.*
