Wind Tunnel Operations Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Wind Tunnel Support Team at our state-of-the-art facility in Bedford. As a Wind Tunnel Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth technical operation of our wind tunnel and its associated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run the wind tunnel and manage the test programme to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of results.
  • Provide first-line support for any issues that may arise during testing.
  • Maintain and service all plant and equipment used to run the wind tunnel.
  • Work on a four on/four off shift pattern, including nights on a rotation basis.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in engineering and good IT skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.
  • Technical expertise in areas such as Leica/Polyworks, MTS Flat Trac Rolling Road, Servo-Hydraulic control systems, and Motorsport data acquisition systems.
  • Knowledge of PIV acquisition and processing is also advantageous.
