About This Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to students with special educational needs in our primary school in Thornton Heath.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored learning strategies for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring their academic growth and personal development.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of SEN pupils, promoting an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with social, communication, and behavioural challenges, fostering a positive and structured classroom setting.
  • Help prepare and organise classroom materials, guaranteeing accessibility for all students.
  • Supervise students during lessons, playtime, and school outings, prioritising their safety and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and support pupil progress.
  • Assist with personal care needs, including mobility support, where required.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to supporting children.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and encouraging positive development in all pupils.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Salary and Benefits
