{"Main Duties": "Main duties of the job

As a member of our inpatient rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients to regain their independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals. Your key responsibilities will include assisting patients with activities of daily living, such as personal care, toileting, and nutrition, as well as supporting therapy staff with access and discharge home visits. You will also be responsible for delivering a range of clinical activities to aid functional ability, including group exercises, games, and puzzles to improve manual dexterity and memory. You will work in partnership with senior members of the team to ensure that the care provided is of high quality and that patients receive the best possible support to achieve their goals.

Person Specification

  • Essential:

    • Awareness of the needs of older people
    • Previous relevant experience of working in health or social care environment
  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience of NHS/Social Care/Voluntary organisation
    • Understanding of Intermediate Care Services


Skills and Knowledge

  • Essential:

    • Able to accept direction and to work as part of a team but also ability to work independently without direct supervision
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Good ability to listen
    • Common sense and practical problem-solving approach
    • Use of email and basic information technology skills
  • Desirable:

    • Ability to show patience and dependability
