Support Specialist for SEMH Students

At Zen Educate, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Specialist to join our team. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
About the RoleWe are looking for a qualified teaching assistant with experience in interventions and working with special needs students, particularly those with SEMH. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing challenging behaviors and maintaining high learning expectations while demonstrating empathy and compassion.
The successful candidate will work closely with the teacher to develop and implement targeted interventions, monitor progress, and maintain effective communication. This is a full-time position, term-time only, with working hours from 8:30 to 3:45, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver targeted interventions for students with SEMH difficulties
- Manage challenging behaviors and maintain a safe learning environment
- Collaborate with the teacher to set and achieve learning objectives
- Monitor progress and maintain effective communication with the teacher
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students as needed
Requirements:
- Team Teach qualification
- Experience in interventions and working with special needs students, particularly those with SEMH
- Excellent behavior management skills
- Ability to work effectively with the teacher and other support staff
- Reliability and consistency
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
