Job Title: KS3 Inclusion Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated KS3 Inclusion Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing short-term plans to ensure coverage, progression, and sequence of learning experiences across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To develop and implement short-term plans to ensure coverage, progression, and sequence of learning experiences across the curriculum.
  2. To take overall responsibility for the pastoral care of children in your class.
  3. To co-ordinate and oversee the organisation of educational visits for your class, including risk assessments as appropriate.
  4. To create a well-managed, secure, and happy classroom environment that prioritises the quality of the learning environment and maximises opportunities for children to learn.
  5. To encourage, develop, and support relationships between families, staff, and children.
  6. To report to and involve families in the development and achievement of children.
  7. To maintain good order and discipline in the classroom in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.
  8. To maintain assessment, planning, recording, and reporting as agreed by the school.
  9. To participate and engage with the performance management process.
  10. To take part in the school staff development programme by participating in opportunities for continuous professional development, including necessary training such as TeamTeach, first-aid, etc.
  11. To be knowledgeable and supportive of all school policies and procedures.
  12. To gather, analyse, and evaluate evidence of children's achievement to inform provision and practice.
  13. To oversee target setting for raising achievement of your children.
  14. To be aware of, and comply with, all policies and procedures related to child protection & safeguarding, bullying, data protection & confidentiality.

Requirements:

  1. QTS and NQT/ECT Induction completion or equivalent teacher training currently leading to full QTS and subsequently NQT/ECT Induction (essential).
  2. A range of experience in delivering the primary curriculum or a secondary subject area to children with SEMH (essential).
  3. Further training or qualifications related to SEMH/SEN (desirable).
