Educational Needs Assistant

Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Oldham. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a child with Autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and caring individual to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the child with Autism in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Collaborate with the SENCO to identify and implement strategies to support the child's specific needs, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Monitor the child's progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff, identifying areas for further development or intervention as necessary.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with Autism in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both children and adults.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and well-being of children with special needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
- An estimated salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
