About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children with a range of physical disabilities and conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume clinical responsibility for a caseload of patients and prioritize tasks accordingly, working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and enhance your professional competence through reflective practice and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, staying up-to-date with current clinical practices and new developments.
  • Contribute to the education and training of physiotherapy assistants within core clinical areas, in collaboration with other team members.
  • Supervise and support physiotherapy assistants in their daily work.
  • Organize and plan your caseload to meet service and patient priorities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in physiotherapy
  • Health Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at relevant postgraduate courses
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and relevant Clinical Interest group(s)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Member of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP) or relevant special interest group
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritize workload using time management and delegation skills
  • Able to manage your caseload, seeking help when necessary
  • Good communication skills across age ranges, with the ability to work with and teach patients and families
  • Organizational skills
  • Computer literacy, including Excel and databases
Experience and Knowledge
  • Broad grounding in physiotherapy, including experience in orthopaedics, neurology, and respiratory at Band 5 level
  • Knowledge of common paediatric conditions and their treatment
  • Proven experience of acute respiratory care
  • Experience of working with children and their families
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
