Care and Support Specialist

About the role:

  • Provide support to encourage customers with learning and physical disabilities to maximise their own potential and independence.
  • Key working with individuals to support them in setting out a care and support plan.
  • Follow care plans and write comprehensive care notes.
  • Provide a high-quality, personalised care and support service including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication.
  • Help customers to get up, washed and dressed.
  • Support customers to go to into the local community e.g. visits to local shops and cafes, visiting friends and attending GP appointments.
  • Promote a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation.
  • Work with customers and other staff members to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Promote safe practices and undertake risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience delivering personal care is desirable.
  • A kind, caring nature.
  • Ability to work well both as part a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of customers.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable.
