This role offers an exciting opportunity to work as a Construction Manager within our esteemed client's project management office. The successful candidate will lead the commercial aspects of allocated projects, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance.
We are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor Lead with exceptional expertise in Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) projects. Your responsibilities will include leading procurement strategies, providing financial reports, and collaborating with operational teams to maximise project efficiency and profitability.
The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled Commercial Project Specialist who can develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals. Experience in NEC4 contracts and bespoke forms of contracts is highly valued.
About the Role
- Estimated salary £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Negotiable salary based on individual qualifications and previous experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial aspects of allocated projects, including risk and opportunity management.
- Drive procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Provide financial performance reports, including forecasting, cash flow, and profit/loss statements.
- Manage client and subcontractor accounts through to finalisation, ensuring value engineering.
- Collaborate with operational teams to maximise project efficiency and profitability.
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy aligned with company goals.
- Support change management processes to maintain project compliance and governance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) projects, ideally EPC with electrical, mechanical, and civil scope.
- Expertise in NEC4 contracts (Options A, C, and E) and bespoke forms of contracts.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, CDM15, and Health & Safety at Work standards.
- Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Experience managing projects up to £50 million or multiple smaller projects.
- Excellent knowledge of construction industry practices, including procurement routes, value management, and cost monitoring.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficiency in cost management, forecasting, and CVR reporting.
