Specialist Support Worker

About the Role:
The role of a Teaching Assistant will be suitable for candidates who have the commitment, passion and resilience to make a difference to pupils who have a range of social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and special educational needs, such as ADHD, Autism and ACES.
As part of a specialist team, the Teaching Assistant will play an important role in helping to create a stimulating, safe and structured environment for pupils with complex needs.
When pupils are regulated, the Teaching Assistant will support pupils' long-term development through the planning and delivery of interventions, coaching conversations and therapeutic activities or by providing general support in the classroom under the guidance of a teacher.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months experience in a SEMH, PRU setting, residential or youth work
- Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to react calmly in challenging situations
