Job Title: Junior Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Genesis Technical Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimise workflow, equipment placement, and space utilisation to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyse production data and provide reports to assist management in decision-making.
  • Maintain and improve the Manufacturing Execution system (MES) to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and recommend improvements to ensure high-quality products.
  • Ensure compliance with company requirements and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage manufacturing line updates to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Explore and implement new ways to automate existing production lines to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct research, development, and deployment of manufacturing automation technology into global manufacturing facilities.
  • Support digital manufacturing initiatives by leading proof of concept (POC) studies and scaling them to production levels.
  • Support the development, implementation, and operation of Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other manufacturing departments to provide innovative solutions and improve overall manufacturing performance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in industrial automation, controls, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.
  • Some experience in a design/DFM role.
  • Lean Practitioner and/or 6 Sigma Black Belt certification.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Factory 4.0 and IIOT applications and integration of AI systems through PLCs.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to communicate effectively with the development team.
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of PLCs, low voltage controls, vision systems, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
