Job Title: Junior Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Genesis Technical Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing current manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, controls, and manufacturing engineering, with experience in design and development of automated equipment and processes. They will also have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

The Junior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Optimizing workflow, equipment placement, and space utilization
  • Analyzing production data and providing reports to assist management in decision-making
  • Maintaining and improving the Manufacturing Execution system (MES)
  • Evaluating quality control processes and recommending improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with company requirements
  • Coordinating and managing manufacturing line updates
  • Exploring and implementing new ways to automate existing production lines
  • Conducting research, development, and deployment of manufacturing automation technology into global manufacturing facilities
  • Supporting digital manufacturing initiatives by leading proof of concept (POC) studies and scaling them to production levels
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and operation of Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives
  • Collaborating with other manufacturing departments to provide innovative solutions
  • Applying project management skills and coordination of internal and external resources to execute projects in a timely and cost-effective manner

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a similar field, and at least 2 years' experience in manufacturing engineering. They will also have experience in industrial automation, controls, manufacturing engineering, or a related role, and be a Lean Practitioner and/or 6 Sigma Black Belt.
