Job Summary

Southeast Community College is seeking a qualified Nursing Instructor to teach in our Practical Nursing program. The successful candidate will provide instruction to students in various courses, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. The instructor will also serve as a coordinator for a group of courses or be the lead instructor for a course or courses within the program.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in various courses, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
• Serve as a coordinator for a group of courses or be the lead instructor for a course or courses within the program.
• Develop and implement the course syllabus according to the Program curriculum plan and SCC policies in cooperation with other faculty.
• Maintain accurate student records and submit grades as required.
• Participate in the Program Assessment Plan by helping to establish benchmarks for assessing student learning and providing information to evaluate student performance against the established criteria.
• Remain current in events and developments related to the subject area by increasing and improving teaching skills and subject knowledge through personal and professional development.
• Develop and revise course curriculum and educational materials as needed to meet the Program philosophy and objectives.
• Serve as an academic advisor for students and provide information and data that will assist in the preparation of budget, course schedules, and other required reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current Nebraska registered nurse license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing.
• Maintain health requirements for clinical sites.
• Agrees to complete a Master's Degree in Nursing program at the time of hire and makes continuous progress toward obtaining the Master's Degree within six (6) years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Teaching experience in a post-secondary nursing program.
