Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior HVAC Detail Design Engineer, you will carry out detailed Engineering design activities, working closely with cross-functional teams on a range of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate technical drawings and specifications
  • Help to identify and resolve any design issues that may arise
  • Support the business in preparing technical reports and documents
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Prepare & produce HVAC marine drawing deliverables to required standards & within budget/schedule
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models to meet required standards
  • Utilise 3D models to generate 2D Production Output deliverables
  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design
  • Provide solutions to manufacturing and installation issues
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs
Requirements
  • Hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical / HVAC discipline
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices
  • Proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems in both 3D & 2D environments, including FORAN
  • Experience in Design working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects, preferably naval shipbuilding projects
  • Development of system design, specifications, manuals, and design substantiation
  • HVAC calculations: heating/cooling load, fresh air calculations, equipment sizing
  • Working knowledge of Foran to produce 2D and 3D deliverables
  • Knowledge of marine design rules
