Job Title: Construction Expert with Renovation Specialization

Location: Manchester, UK

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Thorn Baker Construction. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects by accurately monitoring and controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully understand project contracts and ensure that project costs reflect these.
  • Prepare project costs using agreed Schedules of Rates, built up net costs, sub-contractors quotes, and agreed mark-up.
  • Issue accurate and timely sub-contract and purchase orders.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the developing project and amend costs to reflect this.
  • Pro-actively monitor and negotiate sub-contract variations.
  • Identify and highlight risk and work with the project team to eliminate or reduce it.
  • Prepare accurate project Cost Value Reconciliations and report these at staged valuations and final account.

Requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience within the last 8 years, including High Rise project experience.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A full UK driving license is required as this role involves site-and office-based work.
