About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Psychologist to join our team in the Wirral Mental Health Support Team, Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). The successful candidate will work closely with families and community services to improve mental health through accessible, inclusive, specialist care and support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support and advice to school staff through consultation and training
  • Provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild-moderate mental health difficulties on a 1-1 or group basis
  • Support schools in their development of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health

Requirements

  • Good honours degree in Psychology (or above) and eligibility for Graduate Membership of BPS
  • Ability to communicate complex/sensitive information where barriers to understanding exist
  • Ability to make judgements involving a range of facts or situations requiring analysis or comparison of a range of options
