Main Duties

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This includes providing a clean, safe, and well-cared-for school environment that promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical development of students.

You will work closely with teachers to monitor, assess, record, and report student progress according to the school's policies. Additionally, you may be required to handle and de-escalate challenging behavior or provide basic personal care as needed.

The school expects a positive attitude to work within a dedicated class team. You will be expected to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups under the general supervision and direction of the teacher. You will also be required to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Key Information

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (8.30-3.30pm) with a competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties. The school is located in Darwen, BB3, and the role is a term-time only position with a PAYE contract.
