Job Title: Teaching and Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Preston. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver high-quality phonics intervention sessions, supporting children aged 5-7 years who are working below age-related levels for Reading and Writing.

About the Role:
  • Deliver phonics intervention sessions to small groups of children, using the Read Write Inc. scheme.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all children.
  • Use a range of strategies to support children with behavioural needs and ensure that poor behaviour does not impact on learning.
  • Collaborate with other members of staff to ensure that all children receive the support they need to reach their full potential.

Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualification or above in supporting children in learning (or other relevant qualifications).
  • Experience of working with children aged 5-7 years, particularly those with phonics difficulties.
  • Ability to use a range of strategies to support children with behavioural needs.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £12.90-£13.50, plus 12.07% statutory holiday pay. We also offer a range of benefits, including free child protection and prevent duty training, and full assistance with DBS checks.
