The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Apex Resourcing Solutions Ltd. Our client is a well-established, award-winning Building Services Consultancy providing engineering services, design, and asset management for the built environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design for buildings, a comprehensive understanding of British standards building codes and regulations, and a proven track record of successful project management.

The Position

As the Principal Electrical Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and contributing to the design and development of electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Overseeing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior and graduate electrical engineers.
  • Engaging with clients to understand project requirements, present technical solutions, and address client concerns. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ensuring that all designs and installations comply with relevant codes.
  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of electrical designs. Conducting thorough reviews of project deliverables.
  • Performing site inspections and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies in electrical engineering and building services. Integrating innovative and sustainable solutions into designs.
The Person

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced electrical engineer with:

  • At least five years' experience and a relevant degree, such as Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Proficiency in the use of Office 365, Amtech (Trimble), Dialux, and Relux.
  • A conscientious and focused approach to your profession.
  • The ability to think creatively in solving engineering and commercial problems.
  • Highly motivated with a strong aptitude to learn and develop skills.
  • A positive and friendly team approach.
  • An enthusiastic and willing personality willing to represent our client through client relationships and develop these further.
  • Knowledge of Auto CAD, BIM, and Revit.
  • Previous working experience and knowledge of retail, commercial, residential, healthcare, and custodial sectors.
