Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Electrical (Control & Instrumentation) to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Control and Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for delivering complex engineering solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop complex integrated process control systems, providing specialist advice and producing evidence to support legislative, safety, and technical requirements.
  2. Liaise with internal and external customers as part of the technical team, articulating and presenting technical arguments clearly and logically.
  3. Execute, evaluate, deliver, and manage complex engineering and/or cross-functional tasks or programmes of work, recognizing stakeholder and customer requirements.
  4. Lead and develop a small team of Control and Instrumentation engineers, identifying opportunities for personal and team development to ensure professional capability is maintained and improved.

Requirements:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle phases and technical specialities.
  • Significant experience producing and communicating design documentation and artefacts relating to Control Systems.
  • Experience developing solutions to meet complex technical requirements in a highly regulated industry/environment.
  • Obtained or capable of obtaining relevant Professional Registration (CEng).
