Job Title: Lead Design Analysis Engineer

Techniche Global Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Analysis Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the design engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design analysis process for interior trim and console components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Concept Development:
    • Develop concept sheets and present to stakeholders.
    • Provide technical explanations of design changes to cost estimators.
    • Generate design estimations for cost of change from benchmark.
  • Development:
    • Prepare styling feedback on A-Surface feasibility and technical requirements.
    • Develop full parts and manage cost, timing, and delivery to meet specifications.
    • Ensure knowledge of regulatory requirements for each region.
    • Develop efficient and cost-effective solutions.
    • Manage and coordinate with other departments and suppliers.
  • New Model Sourcing:
    • Create RFQs and review supplier concepts for cost and quality.
    • Analyze quotes and breakdowns.
    • Validate supplier quotes meet RFQ and concept needs.
    • Identify challenge points and queries in quotes.
    • Present status to management.
    • Engage with supplier technical and commercial teams.
  • New Model Cost Management:
    • Analyze quotes and breakdowns at major milestones.
    • Generate technical queries and challenges.
    • Analyze design changes and validation technical liability.
    • Develop cost reduction ideas.
    • Benchmark against internal and competitor references.
  • Lifecycle Cost Management:
    • Generate technical cost reduction ideas.
    • Benchmark at part and vehicle feature level.
    • Manage supplier activity and internal reporting.
    • Develop cost reduction design changes with suppliers.

While the primary focus is on technical cost, the engineer will contribute to new model and lifecycle design engineering development when required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in automotive design and development, cost breakdown analysis, and working in a technical/commercial cross-functional team.

Requirements:

  • Previous automotive design and development experience.
  • Previous experience in cost breakdown analysis and technical/commercial cross-functional teams.
  • Prior knowledge of interior cabin parts/modules.
  • Prior knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel globally.
