Holtec International is a global leader in nuclear energy solutions, and we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in mechanical engineering and analysis, with experience in designing and analyzing complex systems.

This role involves analyzing mechanical and structural components of our SMR-160 small modular reactor, supporting engineering and licensing requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results. Responsibilities:
  • Execute and document structural and mechanical design analysis for pressure vessels, supports, mechanical equipment, and structures.
  • Improve concept designs based on limited requirements or functions and develop mature requirements by gaining an understanding of the system, structure, or components.
  • Support the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate design progress in stakeholder meetings.
Requirements:
  • MS in mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, structural engineering, materials science and engineering, or closely related field of engineering.
  • Strong academic background in mechanical or structural engineering and analysis, including course work applying analysis methods and performing finite element analysis.
  • 0-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location. Holtec International offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
