We are seeking an experienced Demi Chef de Partie to join our passionate kitchen team at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious chef to work alongside our Head Chef in maintaining the high standard of cuisine and ensuring the quality is second to none. As a Demi Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for working effectively with all other associated members of staff in relation to the production and service of food.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise and co-operate effectively with all other associated members of staff in relation to all aspects of the production and service of food.
  • Control wastage by maintaining the correct stock levels and rotation from dry stores and avoid the overproduction of food and mis en place.
  • Assist other sections of the kitchen in the production and service of food or the cleaning down of the section as and when required due to the workload.
  • Maintain constant quality control of all food prepared and cooked ensuring it is to the Head Chef's and Restaurant standards.
  • Provide a clear handover during shift changes.
  • Report any problem relating to the smooth operating of staff within the section or the non-cooperation from another section of the kitchen immediately to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Report all accidents or kitchen equipment defects to the Head Chef or Sous Chef and complete all relevant documentation.
  • Constantly communicate and maintain mutual understanding with all other hotel departments.
