About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join our team at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (OCDEM), Churchill Hospital. The successful candidate will be based in the Human Islet Isolation Facility and will play a key role in the UK Nationwide Human Islet Isolation programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in human pancreatic islet isolation and transplantation
  • Conduct research under the supervision of a senior scientist
  • Distribute research grade islets to scientists researching type 1 diabetes
  • Improve, maintain, and update the islet database
  • Record disposal of islet preparations in accordance with HTA requirements
About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research and a keen interest in islet isolation and transplantation. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and organizational skills.
