Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Director to join our team at Marston Holdings. As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in leading our Transport Planning team and contributing to the success of our business plans and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Governance
    • Provide leadership, governance, and direction to the Transport Planning team
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans and strategies
  • Client Relationships
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients
    • Negotiate with internal and external business partners, clients, and customers
  • Project Delivery
    • Ensure projects are secured in line with business commercial guidelines
    • Deliver projects that meet quality, financial, and client satisfaction objectives
  • Team Management
    • Lead and mentor direct reports and teams of Transport Planners
    • Ensure staff are provided with the appropriate information technology and training
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Report and contribute at operational team meetings
    • Implement agreed management strategies and line manage up to six direct reports
  • Technical Expertise
    • Deliver expert technical support, input, and services in the delivery of Transport Planning projects
    • Prepare and assist with bid submissions for new work
  • Financial Management
    • Support regional financial performance through management of key accounts
    • Manage programmes of work and deliver expert technical support

Requirements

  • Chartered Status
    • Chartered with CIHT/TPP
  • Transport Planning Expertise
    • Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in transport planning and the stakeholder environment
    • Detailed knowledge and experience of delivering transport planning services for local authorities
  • Business Acumen
    • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policy, and funding cycles
    • Experienced in solution development and ability to develop, price, and agree scope of services
  • Leadership and Management
    • Highly effective mentoring and training skills to develop and support staff
    • Knowledge and experience of financial management for significant project and programme values
