About the Role

We have a vacancy for a Support Worker to join our teams supporting individuals living in their own homes in Newbury. This is a part-time post for 30 hours, fixed-term contract for 9 months. You will be working in the individuals' home, so it's essential you can connect, share interests, and be interested.

The people we support enjoy cooking, eating out, socialising, and meeting up with friends and family. They also like to get out and about and have their own vehicles, so you will need to be a driver and willing to drive their vehicles. For this, you should have a full UK manual driving licence and have held it for at least 1 year for insurance purposes.

You will be required to work a variety of shifts across the week and some weekends, as well as sleep-in shifts as needed. Ability to commute/relocate: To RG14 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work.

We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, your primary role will be to provide support and enablement to individuals with their daily lives, promoting their independence and well-being. You will work closely with the individuals, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.

You will be responsible for supporting individuals with their medication, making healthy lifestyle choices, and maintaining their home in a safe and well manner. You will also assist with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.

As a Support Worker, you will be required to work collaboratively with the individuals, their families, and other professionals to ensure that their needs are met and their dignity is respected. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and enablement to individuals with their daily lives, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Work closely with individuals, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans
  • Support individuals with their medication, making healthy lifestyle choices, and maintaining their home in a safe and well manner
  • Assist with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns or issues that may arise
