Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at a leading healthcare provider in the Hatfield, Hertfordshire area.

This hospital is renowned for delivering high-quality healthcare treatments and services, with a strong focus on patient care and well-being.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues, reviewing patient mental states, and conducting thorough physical health screens upon admission.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring seamless handovers to colleagues, including out-of-hours coverage
  • Conducting regular mental state reviews in accordance with hospital procedures
  • Performing comprehensive physical health screens, including physical examinations, ECGs, and blood tests
  • Leading the management of physical health concerns that arise during inpatient stays
  • Collaborating with other professionals and family members to gather collateral history
  • Preparing timely discharge letters, reports, and s62 forms as required
  • Assisting with mental health review tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of a Consultant

Preferred skills and experience include:

  • Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Accreditation or pending accreditation in Forensic psychiatry with the GMC
  • Recent appraisal or RITA within the last year

The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will receive a competitive salary up to £150,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including:
