Sports Coach for SEN Schools

We are currently recruiting for a Sports Coach to work at an SEN secondary provision, providing 1:1 and group support to children with complex behavioural needs. The role includes working 1:1 with children who have challenging behaviour and using sports as a therapeutic method to manage their behaviour and support their learning away from the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 behaviour interventions for pupils with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties.
  • Offering general group support and using sports as an enrichment activity.
  • Supporting the Class Teacher with daily tasks and planning.
  • Taking small groups of children out of the classroom to use sports as a learning method.
  • Leading sports classes indoors and outdoors.
  • Using sports as a method of de-escalating situations.

Requirements:

  • Experienced in coaching/working with children or young people with additional needs.
  • Experienced working with challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, and Social and Emotional Mental Health.
  • Qualifications in multiple sports will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of the curriculum, including English, Maths, and Science.
  • Must be able to work full-time - 5 days a week.
