Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Affairs Director to join our team at the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association. As a key member of our Global Medical Affairs team, you will be responsible for developing and executing medical affairs strategies for our Hematology priority programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Medical Affairs Strategies: Lead the development and execution of medical affairs strategies for Hematology priority programs, including transformative tactics such as research, population health, innovative partnerships, and integrated evidence plans.
  • Co-Develop Plans for Evidence Generation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop plans for evidence generation, medical education programs, scientific publication planning, and medical expert network development.
  • Co-Own the Development and Implementation of Innovative Education and Scientific Communication Plans: Work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement innovative education and scientific communication plans for external stakeholders.
  • Financial Tracking and Management: Ensure timely and cost-effective development and execution of medical activities, including financial tracking and management.
  • Prepare SRC Submissions: Prepare submissions for regulatory approval, including SRC submissions for TA assets within remit.
  • Partner with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with Development, S&G, US, and International cross-functions to shape portfolio early and diversify evidence to achieve broad access at launch and enhance impact on clinical practice for priority programs.
  • Represent GMA with Internal and External Audiences: Represent the Global Medical Affairs team with internal and external audiences, including the investment, medical, and regulatory communities, as well as pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry collaborators/partners.
  • Provide Direction and Input: Provide direction and input into the development and implementation of successful reimbursement and market-access strategies.
  • Provide Proactive Input to Development: Provide proactive input to Development on potential new therapeutic indications, to enrich Registration Programs and consider new therapeutic opportunities.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality Standards: Ensure that GMA activities are designed and executed in compliance with company policy guidelines and highest medical quality standards.
Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD) or PhD/PharmD in Health Sciences: A medical degree (MD) or PhD/PharmD in Health Sciences is preferred, with a specialist degree or specialist qualification related to the discipline for which you will be responsible being an advantage.
  • 5+ Years of Pharmaceutical Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development.
  • Experience in Studies and Data Generation: Experience in studies, including late studies, studies performance, and being part of Clinical Research teams, as well as experience in data and evidence generation.
  • Strategic Mindset and Leadership Skills: A strategic mindset and ability to establish credibility and influence across a range of diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization to drive change, with project management and leadership (either direct or indirect) experience.
  • Fluent Communicator in English: Fluency in the English language is required.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience and Expertise in Hematology: Highly preferred: experience and expertise in hematology, including launch and pre-launch activities, and clinical trials conduct.
