About the Role:

The Openwork Partnership is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for the completion of month end reporting, regulatory reporting, and ensuring continuous improvement in the control environment. You will have a key role in the development and on-going maintenance of appropriate best-in-class processes and controls within the Finance Team and the on-going development and maintenance of the Finance Function Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of month end process across the team and ownership of key processes payroll, cash control culminating with the production of the month end report.
  • Completion of the FCA regulatory reporting advice submission and oversight of the investment firms.
  • Maintenance of integrity & accuracy of balance sheet along with preparation and review of monthly reconciliations.
  • Challenge and understanding of the complaints provision to report on this whilst ensuring this meets the accounting standard.
  • Identify key processes/controls in Finance and work with the relevant people/teams to remedy and improve process and control deficiencies.
  • Maintenance and ownership of the Finance Function Manual & Finance Operating Procedures to ensure these are fit for purpose, complete and continuously improved.
  • Operational management of the Treasury function and banking systems with support and direction from Head of Financial Reporting & Control.
  • Oversight and support of the cash forecast model with ongoing development.
  • Ownership of the Finance system, identifying improvements for controls, managing upgrades and new reporting requirements.
  • Attendee of the Debt committee, providing updates on the provision and analysis of the movement.
  • Support the year end audit and responsibility for delivery of own and direct reports audit requests.
  • Management and mentoring of team to support and encourage their development.
  • Support Financial Reporting & Controls Team along with the wider finance team on ad-hoc work including projects.

The Benefits:

  • Salary - £47,000 to £67,000
  • Bonus scheme - on target bonus -10%

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant or can demonstrate substantial, relevant experience across Finance
  • Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a large organisation
  • Involvement and delivery of month end reporting providing analysis and insight of the result
  • Deadline and task orientated
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Knowledge of Financial Services would be advantageous
