Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Policy Support and Engagement Officer to join our team at the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime. As a key member of our team, you will support the London's Victims' Commissioner in shaping policy and legislation that impacts victims in London.

The successful candidate will have excellent research skills, be able to analyze complex information, and develop effective policies and strategies. You will work closely with the Commissioner, MOPAC's teams, Justice Agencies, and the voluntary sector to ensure that victims' voices are heard and their experiences inform policy decisions.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Commissioner through policy work, lobbying, and press opportunities, as well as contributing to the development of policy positions and new pieces of work. These may include Violence Against Women and Girls, Hate Crime, Modern Slavery, and legislation affecting victims.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the policy agenda for victims in London and contribute to the development of policies that impact victims' lives. You will also have the chance to work with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.

Estimated salary: £40,892 ~ £46,887 per annum.
