The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead, drive, and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall ownership of kV switchgear and primary substation projects from award to completion for various renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and own programs of work for projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Provide project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, financial management, and change management across the project portfolio.
  • Maximise profitability for the business by considering innovative technologies, better practices, or sustainable solutions to deliver project efficiencies.
  • Attend site when necessary to troubleshoot, monitor quality, oversee progression, or conduct audits.
  • Communicate routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level, internally and externally.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of best practice project management, particularly within the electrical utility industry.
  • Understanding of the project life cycle from ownership to completion, along with an awareness and management of cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Problem-solving, strategic thinking, and agility in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting your communication style when required, and the ability to work alongside multiple teams at any one time.
  • Top-notch organisation and coordination skills, with the ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working for an ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (kV).
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI).
  • Proficiency in Productivity and Collaboration Software, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint, across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with MS Project or equivalent Project Management software.
  • Full UK driving license.
