About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a Consultant in Forensic Mental Health, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services to our patients in a secure and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Attend SMT morning handover and participate in ward rounds, clinical audit, and quality improvement work
  • Assess referrals to determine suitability for admission and undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Chair and oversee CPA reviews, lead the implementation of risk assessment and risk management, and participate in clinical governance
  • Work and liaise with external agencies, write and supervise various reports, and attend hearings
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • On the Specialty Register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Psychiatry with forensic experience
  • Ability to lead and work within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Good CPD standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and an appraisal within the last year
  • AC and Section 12 (2) approval
