Practice Nurse

Staveleigh Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our dynamic and award-winning team. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of approximately 7,500 patients. You will play a key part in delivering a range of primary care services, including immunisations, chronic disease management, and health promotion, while contributing to the ongoing success of our highly regarded practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Immunisations: Administer routine and seasonal vaccinations, including baby immunisations and travel vaccines.
- Cervical Screening: Carry out regular cervical smears in line with national screening programs.
- Chronic Disease Management: Provide ongoing care and management for patients with long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.
- Health Promotion and Education: Offer lifestyle advice and support patients in managing their health, including smoking cessation, weight management, and dietary advice.
- Women's Health: Provide care related to family planning, contraception, and menopausal support.
- Health Assessments: Conduct new patient checks, NHS health checks, and routine health assessments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other members of the clinical team to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
- Infection Control: Ensure the highest standards of infection control, maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Administration: Maintain accurate patient records, including electronic medical records, and contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin.
- Experience: Experience working in a primary care or general practice setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in administering immunisations and performing cervical screenings. Strong understanding of chronic disease management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Desirable: Additional qualifications in areas such as diabetes, asthma, or family planning. Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g. TPP SystmOne or EMIS).
