Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant Role at GSL Education

GSL Education is seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team as Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants. We are committed to supporting children with autism in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create engaging lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of students with autism.
  • Provide individualized support to students, assisting them in developing their communication, social, and academic skills.
  • Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each student's needs, fostering a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Work closely with parents and other professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to supporting the student's development.
  • Contribute to the collection of data on student progress, informing individualized education plans and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children or adults diagnosed with autism.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and strengths associated with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and dedicated approach to working with individuals with autism.
