Forensic Nurse or Paramedic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Nurse or Paramedic to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to detainees in our custody suites.
With a strong background in acute medical healthcare, you will be responsible for assessing and caring for detainees, as well as collecting forensic samples and providing support for vulnerabilities. You will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

Job OpportunityThis role is open to qualified Registered Nurses or Paramedics with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, or prison settings would be advantageous.
You will work a 4-on-4-off rota pattern, providing a good work-life balance and the ability to plan your personal life months in advance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Forensic sampling, including road traffic offence bloods
- Signposting and conducting referrals, offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending
- Delivering substance misuse therapies
- Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites
- Acute disease management
- Promoting good personal healthcare
- Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs
- Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
- Acute medical healthcare experience
Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse, or other relevant discipline.
