About the Role

Downing is a leading developer, owner, and operator of bespoke, luxury student accommodation, residential and commercial property across the UK.

We require an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team to maintain our Student Accommodation Scheme with 576 bedrooms in Cambridge City Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, joinery, electrical, painting and decorating, and supervise subcontracted work as needed.
  • Complete reactive maintenance jobs efficiently and consistently meet quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, liaise effectively with managers and colleagues, and exercise initiative to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Take ownership of responsibilities and demonstrate pride in work carried out.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and its impact on work being undertaken.
  • Possess a relevant qualification in plumbing, joinery, or electrical systems (preferable).
  • Have previous experience in domestic electrical/plumbing/general maintenance.
  • Hold intermediate-level skills in business operating systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
