We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team in Gloucester, where you will be responsible for ensuring materials meet demanding specifications while working on various projects and technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Material Selection and Specifications: Use technical expertise to select and specify suitable materials.
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Investigation: Lead or support investigations to identify and resolve material failures.
  • Technical Initiatives: Contribute to initiatives such as material compliance, dual sourcing, and parts verification.
  • Design and Manufacturing Integration: Collaborate with R&D and design teams to integrate new products into manufacturing processes.
  • Manufacturing Process Optimization: Develop and refine manufacturing processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Project Support: Assist the project team in developing cost-effective manufacturing strategies.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Establish control measures to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Minimum HNC in a relevant science or engineering field.
  • Technical Experience: Experience in technical manufacturing engineering roles is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proactive and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects simultaneously while solving complex technical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
